Yesterday we went out for another trip on the land. It was so beautiful and we went across to Inukshuk Village and Disappointment Lake (which looked pretty much like the rest of the land - frozen and snow covered) then back by Wolf Esker. I've realized that the land here isn't as flat as I'd originally thought. There are many eskers and a decent amount of low hills. I'm now fairly certain that one of my day trips over the summer will be to Wolf Esker. It is so much taller than I would have thought!! A few people were sledding down it and it was crazy! I think a trip to Inukshuk village over the summer would be a good idea too. There are a bunch of little stone Inukshuks there and I bet it's even nicer when the snow is gone.
The only problem with these day trips is that I'm the passenger on the back of the ski-doo and when we hit bumps it really hurts my neck. I was almost in tears by the time we got back. I don't know what to do about it since I don't always want to stay home when people are going out on the land. I want to see the land too. I can't drive because my hand is not strong enough to push the gas lever for very long. So, I think I'll just grin and bear it since it doesn't seem to keep hurting after the bump is gone and there's no pain today... besides, I really love going out on the land. Once it's a bit warmer we can fix up the four wheeler too and have both vehicles running until the snow melts. Then B and I can go out together on little trips. Then all we'll need is a compass and a GPS!
