It's been almost a month since I made this decision and I'm really enjoying it. I've been trying new things and also noticing a difference in my taste. A lot of things seem way more flavourful now, like fruit! I'm also really making an effort to get a lot more variety into my diet and that's been a lot of fun. Had a really nice barley salad from a fast food place downtown the other day. Neat texture! I've only ever had barley in soup before and it's not really the same.
I'll admit... my body did some strange things at first, nothing awful or painful but strange noises were abundant. It seems to have figured things out now and apart from the occasional smell of cooking meat, I haven't really been missing it all that much. I think hit helps that a lot of companies make really tasty veggie burgers.
I also found out that a nice little pub not to far from home has a rather nice veggie menu. They don't have a huge menu but almost everything that they do have on it has a vegetarian equivalent! Go Whelan's Gate Pub!!! Veggie burger + portobello mushrooms + brie cheese = yummy awesomeness! Next time I might try the veg curry!
