As has been happening most days, I started to feel pretty exhausted around 8:00 pm. Instead of heading to bed, I chatted with Laura online for a bit then went into the bedroom to do some reading and writing. I ended up only getting the writing done then turning off the lights at 10:00pm.
I did a couple of things differently last night. I ate more protein because I’d been reading about the “Blood type diet” theory. It’s based on the concept that “different blood types mean different body chemistries” and our bodies will require and breakdown different foods based on it. I believe there is a lot of criticism stating that it’s quackery, so I’m taking it with a grain of salt.
The nice thing is that it doesn’t really conflict with any of the other changes that I’ve been making. There are a few minor differences but it’s helped give me an idea of which choices out of the plethora of choices that I have might work better for my body.
I don’t know if it was a coincidence or not but I certainly had a much better morning today than I have in several weeks and I didn’t change much other than adding some extra protein.
The other interesting thing is that (if we’re taking the blood type thing at face value) wheat products may not work so well for me but rice is okay. Neither is dairy. So those whole wheat sandwiches with turkey and cheese that I was making and those little yogurt cups I was bringing in to boost my protein may not have been the optimal choices. Considering how crappy I’d been feeling lately and how much better I feel today, this could mean a few things: the blood type theory isn’t total crap or it is crap but coincidentally I’m intolerant to either dairy or wheat like so many other people or I really do need more meat protein in my diet or it’s all just coincidence.
Honestly, I am kind of frustrated. The amount of information out there is just crazy and so contradictory. I’d love to see a nutritionist but I was looking at the fees for the consultations and they average around $100. *sigh*
