...and it's only 9 o'clock. I got to work this morning and the elevators weren't working. After much humming and hawing, one of my co-workers and I decided to attempt the 14 floor (28 flight) stair hike. Being asthmatic and having a heart rate that increases very quickly, I have to admit that I was reluctant to even attempt it...but I did on the condition that we would move slowly. I made it up 4 floors before I had to stop. My heart was racing much faster than I'm sure is healthy. I stopped again on the 10th floor and finally on the 14th floor. I was feeling like my legs were going to give out on me for the last few floors but I made it. Now I'm at my desk, stretching my leg muscles in an attempt to keep them from being insanely sore tomorrow. Sure it was great exercise but now my breathing is a bit off, my legs are feeling weak and my body is shakey (presumably from an adrenalin rush). Needless to say, I have no intention of doing that again any time soon. It is far to hard on my body and even if I was in better shape, I am still asthmatic and have a heart that just likes to beat fast! I feel like I need a nap now.
