Moving complete

We're all moved in!! I'm so happy! We started moving yesterday as the forecast was calling for a blizzard and got almost all of the boxes moved with just four people; two girls, two guys. The girls did most of the packing and the boys did the heavy lifting. We used a large wooden sled called a qamutik to transport most of the stuff. We had hoped one of the guys up here would help us out with a truck but neither of the people we asked could do it... We also didn't get a whole lot of help yesterday or today for the bulkier stuff. We waited until 5 o'clock to move the rest of the stuff today because the blizzard was pretty bad this morning. Thankfully, it settled down enough to get the rest of the stuff... of course it cleared up completely about 30 minutes after we had finished! The last thing to do is get the old place cleaned up a bit and sign out.

Rusty seems to really like the new place and Toby is enjoying running around and up and down the stairs. We had to put Toby's kennel in the bedroom last night though. He was a bit stressed being alone downstairs and wouldn't stop barking. He calmed down a bit once he realized we hadn't abandonned him.

I think I'm going to be unpacking boxes for the next few months. I seems like there's just a TON of stuff! Of course I keep trying to find specific things and can't. I was looking for a set of blue curtains I had and found EVERY other set except the blue ones! Aargh!! They'll probably be in the last box I open. *sigh*

I'm so tired and my feet are so sore... I think I'm going to sleep well tonight!
Yeah, I've got a similar track record for moving and I agree it does keep things interesting. I think that I could handle staying here for a few years though and just move furniture around. ;) I usually move within a year but if I get past that one year mark I'll usually last two or three years in one place.
I'm glad to hear you are all moved in and the wee pup and kitty are liking their new digs. ;)
I find the packing part of moving to be the worst really... the move is annoying but it doesn't usually take too long and the unpacking can be fun cuz its a bit of a clean slate... but packing, ugh. I'm not looking forward to the days we have to pack up this place! :p
