Hairless Meg

sick again but with good news!

That's right, I'm sick again. I had to leave work early yesterday because I started to feel the top of my throat (more towards my nasal passage) getting sore. It's the same "sore throat" type thing that I was getting all the time before giving my kitty, Rusty, up for adoption. I haven't had it bother me since I moved from the North, so I can't really complain too much but it's still painful and annoying. Of course, I also have a migraine today and still hadn't completely recovered from the stomach problems, so it's definitely a strain on my system but it seems to be quite a bit better this morning. I've also taken my migraine prescription so that should be feeling better shortly too.

Knowing that I wasn't going to be feeling terribly great today, I asked to take today off as a vacation day. Work didn't have a problem with it, so today I'm realxing and taking care of myself. I've got my orange juice and my soup, lozenges and an endless supply of tapwater.

No matter how bad I might be feeling though, there's one thing that is keeping me in high spirits. I decided to ask S, the lady who is pretty much like a superintendent here, if it would be okay for me to have friends, specifically Jboy, come over to visit. As some of you may recall, when I signed on to live here, there was a no visitors rule but S had said that a girlfriend coming over now and then was okay. She was pretty adamant that there would be no men in the house because she'd had so much trouble with it before. Since the other roommate recently moved out and because I've been living here for nine months with no problems, I thought it couldn't hurt to ask if she'd lift the ban on men. Sure enough, she said that was okay!!! She's actually got a couple who's moving in to the room next to me, so she said it was okay but she is a little worried about it. I think once she sees that Jboy and I aren't going to yell and curse at each other and the other people in the house (which is what happened with the other tenants), she'll feel more at ease about it.

So I'm absolutely thrilled about this because it means that I can have friends come over to visit now. Of course, no parties or anything crazy, but if I want to have friends over to just hang out, watch a movie, play video games, whatever, I can do that now!!  I have to admit, this small change really makes me feel more like this is my home.

Get well soon :)

Also congrats, it's always good to have a great feeling like that. :)
Thanks!

I agree, very good feeling indeed!! Overall, I like my little room but it was really driving me nuts not being able to have anyone over. I'm glad I asked.
I can't believe how much of a difference it makes just knowing that I have the option now! :D
