Changes ahead

Seeing as I've been doing so well with my decision not to eat potato chips (and only potato chips -not potato sticks, pretzels, sunchips or any other variety of chip or potato) I am going to try to add a couple of new things to the mix this year. I've decided that I'm going to try to make better food choices starting with two specific things. Firstly, I'm going to stop drinking pop - diet or regular, it makes no difference. One is high in sugar, the other has aspartame. I never used to drink pop and managed just fine without it. In fact, it really wasn't until I moved up north that I started drinking it more. Hencforth, it shall be water, juice, tea or milk... or anything else that isn't pop. Secondly, I'm going to stop "upsizing" things - specifically McDonald's fries. I think I like them a little too much for my own good and find myself over-filling my stomach just so that I can eat every last delicious bite! I'm convinced that they're laced with some chemically addictive substance! I'm also going to try to make better food choices overall but that's more general and it's really the specific things that I find work best for me. I'm not going to completely deprive myself because it will just work against me.

In unrelated news, this is my last week "off" before school starts back up. I'm definitely planning on staying more on top of things than I was last term. Of course, I don't have the stresses that I had last term so that shouldn't be too hard to accomplish. The main trick will be to make sure I don't get so far behind this term!

I feel compelled to agree with you... and yet I keep eating it!! That's usually because it's nearby and convenient. It's all about the laziness. At some point I think I'll try to wean myself away from it. I wonder if I'll suffer withdrawal! ;)
